Introduction

This is a blog I've created to talk about my allotment and my polytunnel and the things I grow. I've created it for a few reasons.

1. I have to write a blog at work and I find the restrictions it imposes on me quite irritating, like not being able to write FUCKING BLIGHT! FUCKING FUCKING BLIGHT HAS FUCKED MY FUCKING TOMATOES AGAIN and that sort of thing. So this should be more enjoyable and if it isn't I'll just not do it, so there.

2. I'm incredibly anal about recording everything that goes in and comes out of the allotment, but still, I think, not anal enough. I am not yet, for instance, recording exactly how long I spend there, or what jobs I do. If I put everything on this blog, I will be able to look back and check. I can also put photos of the allotment month by month on it yay!

3. There must be other people out there who share my enthusiasm for filling in detailed spreadsheets about gardening. There may even be people for whom this data is actually useful - maybe they're doing a PhD on urban gardening or something. If so, you're welcome to it. Perhaps you can even suggest sensible ways of analysing it.

4. I'm fascinated by whether I'm actually saving money through this hobby or not. Hopefully this blog will make it clearer. And that may just be a subject other gardeners out there are interested in.
